Comparison of Soundscape Evaluation in Forest-Type and Urban-Type Han Chinese Buddhist Temples

Soundscapes are one of the main means creating a religious atmosphere in Han Chinese Buddhist temples, which most important sites China. This paper selected several representative forest-type and urban-type temples employed questionnaire sound level measurement methods to conduct comparative analysis four aspects acoustic environment evaluation, i.e., quietness, comfort, harmony, preference, identify compare characteristics respondents’ soundscape evaluation these two types temples. The results showed that compared with respondents found be quieter, more comfortable harmonious atmosphere. level, measured social characteristics, such as age, occupation, education, purpose frequency visiting attitude towards thought, influenced their different degrees.
